LEGALLY BLONDE 2

stadium

For this movie, we built a stylized model of Fenway Park. My assignments were to create the light towers, scoreboard, turntable design, and control box. For the towers, I generated artwork in Illustrator and had brass sheets photo-etched. I then folded and soldered them together. I made them telescopic to provide adjustable height. For the bulbs, I used a plug and socket system to ease replacement of burn-outs. The "cans" around the bulbs are high-temp wire nuts with the tips cut off and painted with metalic paint. It was a great system.

The entire model was built on a motorized turntable with a center pitcher's mound that turned the opposite direction. I built a remote controller to provide independent speed control for both motors in both directions. It also contained power switches for the towers, window lights, and scoreboard. I delivered it to set and operated it for the shoot.

I built the scoreboard (the Green Monster") around a green vacuum fluorescent display. I programmed a series of messages that constantly scrolled across the screen.
