This show was Pat McClung's debut as Visual Effects Supervisor, and I had the pleasure of being miniature and effects crew chief during shooting. Our shots looked way more real than the computer generated ones! A terrific crew including Brian Ripley, Gordon Forkert and George Stevens made my job pretty easy.




The 1/4 scale tank and truck to the left are puppeteered from beneath. The tank runs through a slit in the deck, and the truck is rigged with air blasters, debris, and dust.





Below is one of the three 1/4-scale bleachers I built out of sheet lead and balsa wood. I rigged several air cannons underneath them to shatter the balsa and debris as the hover-tank hit them. It was quite cool looking!
